Reunion Theatre Group Audition Announcement
A Little Misunderstanding
by Keith McGregor
The next production at Reunion Theatre Group will be the world premiere production of "A Little Misunderstanding," a new play written and directed by Keith McGregor. (Over the past few years Keith has directed "The Last Resort," "Audition for Murder," "Murder Inn," and "Dressing for Murder" at Reunion).
"A Little Misunderstanding" is set in Mississippi, which was McGregor's birth state. In this serious comedy, two families learn that sometimes the simplest of life's lessons can be the hardest to accept. Two families, each with an adult child, try to guide those children into the careers and lives that the parents have envisioned for them. When the offspring reject those plans, the situation quickly goes off track and escalates into a tense situation with lots of "little misunderstandings" all around.
The production will begin rehearsals on Monday, January 12th, and the show opens on February 27th for a three weekend run. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, and the show closes on Sunday, March 15th. (There may possibly be a Saturday matinee, which will mean a two-show day, but that is not definite at this point.)
Auditions will be held on Sunday, Dec. 14th, beginning at 5:00 pm; and on Tuesday, Dec. 16th, beginning at 7:00 pm. Auditions will be held at the Everett Music Hall, inside the Everett Mall; 1402 Everett Mall Way, Everett, WA 98208. It's where Reunion Theatre performs its shows. Park on the back side of Macy's, between the mall and the freeway, and use that mall entrance.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. If you have a resume and head shot, please bring them--if not, don't worry about it. We'll have a short information form for you to complete.
The Cast: "A Little Misunderstanding" requires an ensemble cast of three men and three women. One pair are young adults--in their mid-twenties. The other characters range in age from fifty-five to sixty-five. The play calls for a southern dialect, and we will have someone to coach the cast. The young male character is a soldier home on leave--a military style haircut will be required.
Rehearsals: Most rehearsals will be weekday evenings, but there will be a few weekend daytime rehearsals.
